Slick Rick, de son vrai nom Richard Martin Lloyd Walters, est un rappeur britannique naturalisé américain né à Londres en 1965. Considéré comme l'un des pionniers du rap narratif, Slick Rick se distingue par ses histoires complexes racontées en rime et sa capacité à utiliser différents accents et personnages. Après avoir débuté sa carrière dans les années 1980 avec le groupe The Cold Crush Brothers, il a atteint la renommée internationale avec son album de début *The Ruler's Back* (1988), qui comprend les succès *Children's Story* et *Mona Lisa*. Slick Rick est connu pour ses performances théâtrales et l'utilisation innovante des effets sonores.
