Slick Rick, de son vrai nom Richard Martin Lloyd Walters, est un rappeur britannique naturalisé américain né à Londres en 1965. Considéré comme l'un des pionniers du rap narratif, Slick Rick se distingue par ses histoires complexes racontées en rime et sa capacité à utiliser différents accents et personnages. Après avoir débuté sa carrière dans les années 1980 avec le groupe The Cold Crush Brothers, il a atteint la renommée internationale avec son album de début *The Ruler's Back* (1988), qui comprend les succès *Children's Story* et *Mona Lisa*. Slick Rick est connu pour ses performances théâtrales et l'utilisation innovante des effets sonores. Sa musique a influencé des générations de rappeurs et continue d'être appréciée pour son originalité et son talent narratif. Malgré quelques problèmes juridiques qui ont marqué sa carrière, Slick Rick est considéré comme une icône du rap classique.
