Soundgarden è stato un gruppo musicale rock statunitense originario di Seattle, Washington. Attivo dal 1984 al 1997, la band è considerata una delle figure chiave del movimento grunge degli anni '90. Con il loro sound caratterizzato da riff pesanti, melodie orecchiabili e le potenti vocalità di Chris Cornell, Soundgarden ha conquistato un posto di rilievo nella storia della musica rock. Tra i brani più celebri si ricordano "Black Hole Sun", "Spoonman", "Fell on Black Days" e "Rusty Cage". L'album "Superunknown" (1994) è considerato uno dei capolavori del grunge, raggiungendo il primo posto nelle classifiche americane. Soundgarden ha collaborato con artisti come Alice in Chains e Pearl Jam, contribuendo a definire l'identità musicale della scena grunge di Seattle. La scomparsa di Chris Cornell nel 2017 ha segnato la fine definitiva del gruppo.
Un casting de stars a rendu hommage à Alice in chains il y a deux semaines. Le 1er décembre, le Museum of Pop Culture de Seattle a remis le Founders Award au groupe américain.
