Big D and the Kids Table est un groupe ska de troisième vague formé à Allston, Massachusetts, en octobre 1995 lorsque ses membres se sont rencontrés au collège. Leur première sortie a été sur leur propre label indépendant Fork In Hand Records, mais ils ont depuis collaboré avec Springman Records et SideOneDummy. Le groupe est connu pour son travail DIY rigoureux, qui comprend l'enregistrement, la production et la sortie de leurs propres albums et vidéos, ainsi que la promotion autonome de leurs propres concerts. Leur son ska se caractérise par un mélange d'énergie punk rock et de mélodies accrocheuses, avec des paroles souvent ironiques et satiriques. Parmi leurs chansons les plus représentatives figurent "The Kids Table", "Don't Let Me Down" et "Skankin' to the Beat".

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
