Mercyful Fate è un gruppo heavy metal danese formatosi a Copenaghen nel 1980. Considerati pionieri del genere black metal, hanno influenzato profondamente la scena musicale successiva con il loro sound oscuro e teatrale. Il gruppo è stato fondato da King Diamond (voce) e Hank Shermann (chitarra), che si sono uniti a Michael Denner (chitarra) e Timi Hansen (basso). Il primo album, *Melissa* (1983), ha introdotto il loro stile caratterizzato da riff veloci, melodie sinfoniche e testi evocativi di demoni e magia. Curse of the Pharaohs (1984) ha consolidato la loro fama, con brani come "Evil" e "The Jackal of Hell". Dopo una pausa negli anni '90, Mercyful Fate si è riunito nel 2003 per un tour mondiale. J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
