Sean Paul, né Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques, est un chanteur et rappeur jamaïcain né à Kingston le 9 janvier 1973. Considéré comme l'un des pionniers du dancehall international, il a acquis une renommée mondiale au début des années 2000 grâce à son style musical qui fusionne des éléments de reggae, hip-hop, pop et R and B. Parmi ses succès les plus connus figurent "Get Busy", "Temperature" et "We Be Burnin'". Il a collaboré avec des artistes internationaux tels que Beyoncé, Dua Lipa et Sia, remportant de nombreux prix, dont un Grammy Award en 2004 pour la chanson "Gimme the Light". Sa musique se caractérise par des rythmes endiablés, des paroles accrocheuses et une présence scénique marquante. Sean Paul reste l'un des artistes jamaïcains les plus influents au niveau mondial.

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
