Saukrates, également connu sous le nom de Big Sox, est le pseudonyme de Karl Amani Wailoo, un rappeur, auteur-compositeur et producteur de disques canadien. Né à Toronto de parents jamaïcains, Saukrates a commencé sa carrière musicale dans les années 1990, se faisant une place comme figure clé de la scène hip-hop underground canadienne. Connu pour son style de rap introspectif et poétique, souvent axé sur des thèmes sociaux et politiques, Saukrates a collaboré avec des artistes tels que Kardinal Offishall et Maestro Fresh Wes. Parmi ses albums les plus importants figurent "The Last Emperor" (2001) et "The Art of War" (2005). J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
