Funkmaster Flex, de son vrai nom Aston Taylor, est un DJ et producteur de disques américain né à New York en 1968. Considéré comme l'un des pionniers du turntablism, il a contribué de manière significative au développement du hip hop dans les années 1990. Il a commencé sa carrière de DJ dans les clubs d'Harlem avant d'acquérir une renommée nationale grâce à son émission radiophonique "The Flex Show" sur Hot 97. Son style énergique et innovant, qui comprenait le scratching, le beat juggling et des mélanges audacieux, a influencé des générations de DJ et d'artistes hip hop. Flex est connu pour ses interviews iconiques avec des rappeurs de renommée mondiale comme Jay-Z, Nas et Eminem, contribuant au lancement de la carrière de nombreux artistes émergents. J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
