Common, né Lonnie Rashid Lynn Jr., est un rappeur, producteur discographique, acteur et écrivain américain originaire de Chicago, Illinois. Il a débuté sa carrière en 1994 sous le nom de Common Sense avec l'album "Resurrection", qui l'a établi comme l'un des rappeurs les plus talentueux de sa génération. Connu pour ses paroles introspectives et poétiques, souvent axées sur des thèmes sociaux et politiques, il a collaboré avec des artistes renommés tels que Kanye West, John Legend et Erykah Badu. En 2006, il a remporté son premier Grammy Award pour la chanson "The People" de l'album "Be". J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
