Bushwick Bill, né Richard Stephen Shaw (1963-2017), était un rappeur américain connu pour être l'un des membres fondateurs du groupe de hip hop Geto Boys. Né à Houston, au Texas, Bill a commencé sa carrière musicale dans les années 1980, caractérisée par des paroles souvent controversées et provocatrices qui abordaient des thèmes comme la violence, la drogue et la vie de rue. Sa voix rauque et son style de rap agressif l'ont fait devenir une figure emblématique du mouvement hip hop underground. Bushwick Bill était également un artiste solo, ayant sorti plusieurs albums au cours de sa carrière. Parmi ses morceaux les plus représentatifs, on peut citer "Everlasting Love", "Mind Playing Tricks on Me" et "Damn It Feels Good to Be a Gangsta". Sa vie personnelle a été marquée par de nombreux problèmes juridiques et un tragique tir en 1991 qui lui a coûté un œil. Malgré les difficultés, Bushwick Bill est resté actif dans la scène musicale jusqu'à sa mort en 2017.

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
