Protoje, pseudonimo di Oje Ken Ollivierre, è un cantante e produttore musicale giamaicano nato a Kingston nel 1987. Considerato uno dei principali esponenti del movimento reggae contemporaneo, Protoje si distingue per la sua musica introspettiva e sociale, caratterizzata da testi poetici e melodie coinvolgenti. La sua carriera ha preso avvio negli anni 2000 con l'uscita di diversi mixtape, fino al debutto ufficiale nel 2011 con l'album "The 7 Year Itch". Tra i suoi brani più noti figurano "Who Knows", "Blood Money" e "Kingston Be Wise". Protoje ha collaborato con artisti come Chronixx, Kabaka Pyramid e Popcaan, contribuendo a rinnovare il panorama musicale giamaicano. J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
