Les Geto Boys sont un groupe de hip-hop originaire de Houston, au Texas. Composé de Scarface, Willie D et Bushwick Bill, le groupe a atteint la renommée dans les années 90 avec un son brut et provocateur qui abordait des thèmes sociaux tels que la violence, la pauvreté et la drogue. La formation originale comprenait également Prince Johnny C, The Slim Jukebox, DJ Ready Red et Little Billy (plus tard connu sous le nom de Bushwick Bill). Leur premier album, *Making Trouble* (1988), n'a pas rencontré un grand succès. Après la dissolution de la formation initiale, Scarface et Willie D se sont joints au groupe, donnant naissance à la formation définitive. J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
