System of a Down è un gruppo musicale alternativo metal di origine armena-americana formatosi a Glendale, California, nel 1994. Il gruppo è composto da Serj Tankian (voce), Daron Malakian (chitarra, voce), Shavo Odadjian (basso) e John Dolmayan (batteria). La loro musica è caratterizzata da un mix di heavy metal aggressivo, influenze folk armene e testi politici e sociali spesso satirici. System of a Down ha raggiunto il successo internazionale con album come "Toxicity" (2001), certificato 6 volte platino negli Stati Uniti, e "Mezmerize" (2005). Tra i loro brani più famosi figurano "Chop Suey!", "Aerials", "B.Y.O.B." e "Toxicity".
