Blackstreet è un gruppo R and B statunitense formatosi nel 1991 da Thomas R. Taliaferro Jr. e Teddy Riley, inventore del New Jack Swing noto per il suo lavoro come membro di Guy. Chauncey Hannibal e Levon Little sono stati ingaggiati sotto contratto con Thomas Taliaferro e sono stati integrati in quello che sarebbe diventato Blackstreet insieme a Joseph Stonestreet, con la partecipazione di Teddy Riley. I membri attuali sono Teddy Riley, Chauncey Hannibal, Dave Hollister, Mark Middleton ed Eric Williams. La formazione originale di Blackstreet comprendeva Teddy Riley, Chauncey Hannibal, Levi Little e Joseph Stonestreet. J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
