Ruff Ryders Entertainment est un label discographique américain fondé à New York en 1997 par Joaquin "Waah" Dean, Darin "Dee" Dean et Chivon Dean, oncles du producteur de disques Swizz Beatz. Le label a eu un impact significatif sur la scène hip-hop des années 90 et 2000, lançant des artistes comme DMX, Eve, The LOX et Drag-On. Ruff Ryders était caractérisé par un son dur et agressif, souvent avec des influences du gangsta rap et de l'hip hop de la côte est. J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
