Of Montreal est un groupe musical américain formé en 1996 à Athens, Géorgie, par le visionnaire Kevin Barnes. Le nom du groupe vient d'une histoire d'amour de Barnes avec une fille de Montréal qui s'est terminée brusquement. Barnes a fondé le groupe après avoir quitté son précédent groupe, The Gerbils. Of Montreal est connu pour son son psychédélique et pop, caractérisé par des mélodies accrocheuses, des paroles surréalistes et des arrangements complexes. Le groupe est étroitement lié au collectif Elephant 6, un mouvement musical indie rock des années 90 qui a donné naissance à de nombreux artistes underground. Au cours de sa carrière, Of Montreal a publié plus de dix albums, dont "Hissing Fauna Are You the Destroyer?" (2007), considéré comme l'un de ses travaux les plus influents et acclamés par la critique. D'autres albums importants incluent "Satanic Panic in the Attic" (2005) et "Lousy with Sylvianbriar" (2010).
